Funding and Awards

Medical and Health Research Infrastructure Fund (MHRIF)

Since 1997, twelve rounds of the MHRIF have been conducted with the State Government allocating approximately $44.6 million in infrastructure support to medical and health researchers in Western Australia. Grant funding was provided to successful applicants for infrastructure costs associated with medical and health research.

2009 Round 13 Call for Applications

The Department of Health invites applications for infrastructure funding in the 2009 Round 13 of the MHRIF. Applications are invited from Western Australian medical and health researchers who have received a minimum of $350,000 in medical or health research funding from all state, national and international competitive peer-reviewed granting sources during the previous three consecutive calendar years (2006 – 2008). State grants must be subject to national peer review and openly competitive (e.g. not restricted to researchers of one institution). Researchers must be employed by, or hold a current grant to undertake research in a WA institution at the time of submitting their application for a MHRIF grant.

Funding will be provided to successful applicants for infrastructure costs associated with medical and health research.

The closing date for applications is 4.00pm, Wednesday 18th November 2009.
Check with your institution for internal deadlines.
